Flood 2014

On June 30, 2014, the nearby Wapsinonoc Creek overran its banks in a never-before-seen flash flood which left our building standing in a lake about a foot high on its outside walls. The waters receded over the next couple of days, but the damage was done. Since then, we have gutted our offices, ripping out all carpeting and wall board, and discarding water-logged or mold-infested furniture and office supplies. The siding must be replaced. Since we are not in a county that has been declared a federal disaster area, our flood insurance will pay only a fraction of what we thought we would receive. We have volunteers for some of the labor, but we need cash donations to finish our demolition and reconstruction. Here are the photos.
