In-Home Nurturing Parent Program for Buchanan, Delaware, Fayette and Johnson counties
The In-Home Nurturing Parent Program for Buchanan, Delaware, Fayette counties and Johnson counties will allow our trained in-home family counselors to focus on using a parenting curriculum developed by Dr. Stephen J. Bavolek that has a proven record. The lessons include: Understanding Feelings, Alternatives to Spanking, Communicating with Respect, Building Self-Worth in Children, Praising Children & their Behavior, Ages & Stages of Growth, The Philosophy and Practices of Nurturing Parenting, Learning Positive Ways to Deal with Stress & Anger, Understanding & Developing Family Morals, Values & Rules, and Ways to Enhance Positive Brain Development in Children & Teens. This program focuses on serving kids birth to 17 in Buchanan, Delaware, Fayette and Johnson counties. Supported by Building Directions for Families in Buchanan, Delaware, and Fayette Counties and Johnson County DECAT.
School Based Mental Health Services
School Based Mental Health Services are available in the Buchanan, Delaware, Fayette area school districts to provide prevention of formal system involvement through conducting mental health screening, providing necessary treatment, including trauma informed strategies, building resiliency, crisis intervention and collaborative efforts. This program is funded by Building Direction for Families.
Building Family Strengths
In-home, in-office, or telehealth counseling program at no cost to individuals, couples, and families for up to 6 months regardless of age or insurance. MH/DS East Central Region dollars supports this prevention program in their 9 county service area.
West Delaware Crisis Counseling & Intervention Services
Provides screening, assessment, information and referral, skill building, counseling, crisis intervention and service coordination to youth in Buchanan, Delaware, and Fayette county schools. Supported by Building Directions for Families.
Johnson County Visitation Program
Families, Inc. provides a professional staff to facilitate reunification of children safely with their families in Johnson County where children have been removed from their home and placed with a foster family, relative or other guardian. This includes transportation of children to and from visits and parent education during the visits using strategies from the evidenced based curriculum Nurturing Parenting.
Behavioral Health Intervention Services
Skill development services available in-home to families with children on Title 19 and who have an assessment determining a diagnosis.
Child Mental Health Waiver Services
Includes therapy and respite for families and children approved for the waiver and referred by a case manager.
Tracking
Includes tracking, monitoring and outreach for youth on probation. Must be referred by a Juvenile Court Officer for children on probation in the 7th Judicial District.
Functional Family Therapy
FFT is a blueprint therapeutic intervention with proven outcomes. Serving families with children ages 10-18 in 14 counties throughout Eastern Iowa. Supported by Juvenile Court Services- 7th Judicial District, Eastern Iowa Region, and East Central Region.
Outpatient Therapy Program
Offers therapy services to individuals and families in order to limit and/or reverse the course of mental health problems with a goal of renewed capacity to function more effectively in work, relationship and family life. Therapy is provided by licensed Social Workers and licensed Mental Health Counselors.
Adoption Home Studies
Home studies can be purchased on a private pay basis.
School Based Therapy
Provides individual therapy to children in the schools in Tipton and West Branch by a licensed therapist.
Crisis Counseling & Intervention Services
Available to youth and families in need of mental health services in Buchanan, Delaware, and Fayette counties.
Aggression Replacement Training
Available to youth with informal Juvenile Court adjustments in group settings in the Buchanan, Delaware, and Fayette area.
Intellectual Disability Waiver
Provides respite services for children referred by a case manager.
